On the heels of his studio album “Little Black Bird” (Anzic), Ernesto Cervini takes his band on the road for a tour across Canada. The album was recorded over two sold-out performances at Cory Weeds’ Cellar Jazz Club in Vancouver, and features this strong ensemble at its very lively best. Cervini continues to “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” (Downbeat) in a program of originals by himself and his band mates (Joel Frahm on Sax, Farrugia on Piano and Loomis on Bass), as well as a stellar inventive treatment of the standard Secret Love.
